Two years of avid snorkeling and research on the coral surrounding Ngau Mei Hoi have turned up more than 180 species of fish. Breaking Hong Kong's recorded sighting of rare fish, our researching activities unveiled six new species around Kiu Tsui Island.

A "Kiu Chiu Island Reef fish Photo Exhibition" was held at Sai Kung Public Pier in January 2008. In a bid to rezone Kiu Tsui Island and the surrounding 100 meter coastal area into a Marine Park, Friends of Sai Kung - in conjuction with Eco-Education Resources Centre's Ken Ching and Alan To - hosted an educational and signature collection campaign to educate and save Kiu Tsui Island Reefs. More than 1,700 visitors supported by signing their name.

Our 2008 research will kick off soon. It doesn't matter if you don't know how to dive or snorkel, passion for our marine waters is welcome. If you would like to take part and experience our diverse colourful underwater world, we look forward to seeing you! For details, please contact Mr Ken Ching.
