Application to build a Buddhist Hall rejected The application to build a Buddhist Hall in the Ho Chung valley (SK-HC-161)has been rejected. Reasons: development not in line with "agriculture" zone use; insufficient information in the submission; no emergency vehicular access; undesirable precedent. 22 comments were received objecting to the Hall, one of the letters contained over 100 signatures from locals. Not a lot happened at the second consultation meeting with Highways Dept. Stage 1 of the road (Ho Chung roundabout to Marina Cove) is still going ahead as 4 lanes and Stage 2 (to Sai Kung) is still under review. Five alternatives were presented to the public of which only one seems to be viable (improve the road by creating lay-bys for buses and turning roads). Minutes from the meeting. We get lots of emails with people interested in what we do but membership is rather stagnant… If you know anyone who might be interested in becoming a member please get them to get in touch with us! We need members so that we have a good communications network and can stay in touch with what is happening around Sai Kung.

Apparently the new bus station – by the police station – is not being used because the design is such that buses cannot turn…

| A second pier is being built in Sai Kung. This was approved by the Sai Kung District Council two years ago. |  |

| Cycle Track Sai Kung to Tseung Kwan O | |||
| Apparently the Civil Engineering and Development Dept. has found the road from Sai Kung to TKO to be too steep to be able to build a cycle track (according to a Feasibility Study completed in 2005). | |||
| Reef exhibition | |||
