2nd Sai Kung Black Kite Festival (5th-6th,12th-13th January 2008)

An educational event taking place in Sai Kung water front which helps to appreciate the fauna of Sai Kung. The Black Kite is one of Hong Kong’s most widely spread raptors, However there isn’t much information about them.

The Black Kite Festival has produced a lot of publicity and support for designating Yeung Chau as a Conservation Area (as it is home to around 150 specimens).

The Festival displayed 10 panels set up for the public, these introduced the ecology and habitat of the Black Kite, 4 telescope stations were set up for the public, especially for children, to observe the Black Kite in Yeung Chau Island.
